Sansser (sansser.com) is run by Rohan Kumar in India, trading as Sansser. "We" means Sansser. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions or requests: hello@sansser.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you unlock a page or sign up for the newsletter.
- Your newsletter choice: whether you ticked the box, the words next to it, whether it was ticked for you, where you signed up and when. We keep this as a record of your consent.
- What you unlocked: which page, when, and the campaign tag in the link you used (for example
?src=instagram). - Your country, worked out from your connection when you sign up. We store the country only, not your IP address.
- Unsubscribes: when you leave the newsletter, we record that, so we never email you again by mistake.
- Bounces: if an email to you bounces because the address doesn't exist, we record that and stop sending to it.
When you sign up, we check that the part of your email after the @ can receive mail. That's a lookup of the domain only, not your address, and we don't store it.
To see which pages help and where they're confusing, we use Microsoft Clarity. It records how visitors use our pages: clicks, scrolling, the pages you open, and your browser, device and rough location. It masks what you type, so it never sees your email. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Clarity doesn't run at all.
We set no cookies of our own. Clarity sets none on sansser.com either, but Microsoft's servers may set their own cookies on clarity.ms and bing.com when the page loads Clarity, including MUID, an identifier Microsoft also uses for advertising. Microsoft explains these in its privacy statement, and you can block them by blocking third-party cookies in your browser. Your browser also remembers which pages you've unlocked (in its own local storage) so you don't have to enter your email again. If you switch between light and dark mode, it remembers that choice the same way. Both notes stay on your device and you can clear them any time.
Why we use it
- To show you the links you asked for.
- To send the newsletter and one welcome email, only if you chose to subscribe. You can unsubscribe from any email in one click.
- To understand which reels and pages are useful, so we make more of them.
- To keep a record of consent, as the law asks us to.
We use your data on the basis of your consent (newsletter) and to provide what you asked for (unlocking links). We never sell your data or share your email with brands.
Who helps us run the site
These services process data for us and only on our instructions:
- Netlify hosts the website and its servers. Like any web host, it sees your IP address when you visit.
- Supabase stores sign-ups in a database in Mumbai, India.
- Resend sends our emails and keeps the newsletter list (servers in the United States).
- Microsoft Clarity shows us how pages are used, as described above (servers in the United States).
- Adobe Fonts serves the fonts on this site. Your browser connects to Adobe to load them, and Adobe counts page views for licensing.
Some of these services are outside India, so your data may be processed abroad. We only use providers that protect it under their own published security and privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and records while you're on the list or until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep the record that you did, so we never email you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete everything, we delete it, apart from what the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also withdraw consent at any time and name someone to act for you. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, including complaining to your local data protection authority.
Email hello@sansser.com from the address you signed up with. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Grievances
For any complaint about how we handle your data, contact Rohan Kumar at hello@sansser.com. If you're not happy with our answer, you can take it to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Sansser is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please don't sign up. If we learn that someone under 18 signed up, we delete their data.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we'll tell subscribers by email.
